 Cheaper Web Hosting Service

3rd Party Applications For SkypeGet All My Foscam IP Camera Developer Examples With One Hour Of One-On-One Support To Implement Them Click Here

Even if you currently don't have a Web Server or Hosting Service. It's easy to start doing so. For as little as $5 U.S. dollars a month. Using Hosting Services like as just one example DigitalOcean's Digital Cloud SSD ("Solid State Drive") VPS ("Virtual Private Servers") Hosting Services:

Click For More Information

Which I used specifically for the examples shown in my prior article here. As to not be subjected to any resource restrictions by a Shared Hosting Service. Which I used for my other prior examples shown here prior to the last examples show in my prior article here and also use normally as well. You can do this without any need use or register any Domain name. Also saving money.

Where you can configure your own flavor of Linux systems and options. To do things like this and also store other data from your IP Cameras. Like your own FTP interface without being subjected to any restrictions a Shared Hosting Service may have. Such as blocked ports, memory usage, process usage and other limits they may impose.

These are the Web Server resources being used with one copy of each example in the last article being run at the same time

Above Web Server was configured for these example with:

Ubuntu 12.04.3 x64 1GB Ram 30GB SSD Disk 2TB Transfer per Month Bandwidth Maximum

Apache/2.2.22 (Ubuntu)

PHP/5.3.10-1ubuntu3.9 with Suhosin-Patch

vsftp ("FTP")

Telnet

SSH

HTTPS

MySQL

memcache

swap file

FFmpeg

avconv

The beauty about going this route, for IP Camera owners. Is that you can control every aspect of what software you use for your Web Server as well as stop/start the Web Server as needed to make changes. The IP Address is unique and can be used directly without any Domain name if needed. As the example here is doing.

The Web Server is your personal Web Server. Without being shared by others. So you have a clear view of the resource being used and also knowing that all those resources are your resources. So that you can do Web Server Tuning as well. It can also support as many Domains as you wish. In the event your currently have Web Sites and are under restrictions on a Shared Hosting Plan.

It's a great alternative method to store Snapshots and Videos for your IP Cameras, without the need to run your own system to do so 24/7/365. It also has built-in RAID ("Redundant Array of Independent Disks") so even a disk outage would not cause a loss of IP Camera files. After all the purpose of IP Cameras are security. So, having fault-tolerant disk storage is important. Even more so for multiple IP Cameras.

Click For More Information

I also wanted to set the stage for my next posts here. Which will be about providing secure real-time video from your IP Cameras and generating SMS messages, when your IP Cameras detect alarms or go offline or become unavailable.

While many IP Cameras have the ability to tell you when their ISP IP Address changes. None have the ability to tell you that they went offline and are not currently available.

Extended Access Restrictions for all Foscam IP Camera Models

If someone were to try to access the Interface that was not allowed to do so and they tried to grab Snapshots or Refreshed Snapshots from your Foscam IP Camera(s). There are Extended Access Restrictions you can implement and use with the Interface. To deny anyone access to the Interface directly. Even if they know the file location of the Interface on the web server.

Example ("Compare above links HTML source code to links below"):

http://107.170.59.150/foscam/FoscamChinaAttempt.htm

https://107.170.59.150/foscam/FoscamChinaAttempt.htm

The Facts

One of the downsides of accessing your IP Cameras over insecure Internet connections or displaying "Real-Time" image(s) of your Foscam IP Cameras in Social Media sites, Blogs, Forums, Web Pages, Instant Messengers or even in Emails as an image or as links. Is that by doing so, you expose and show your Foscam IP Cameras DDNS and Port or ISP IP Address and Port and User Id and Password credentials for your Foscam IP Camera.

This Interface provides methods that resolve the above issues with future versions and functionality to come. Even while using HTTP unsecure access methods to any of your Foscam IP Cameras.

Secure Private Use

These images and their very secure methods. Contain no reference to your Foscam IP Cameras Model information, DDNS, IP Address or Cameras User credentials on where the Foscam IP Camera images originated from or how they were obtained.

In fact. These methods can be used to check on your Foscam IP Cameras when you are using any Internet browser capable device that is using public or semi-private Internet access. Such as public WiFi access or even your workplace and other semi-private internet connections for your Internet connection at that time.

Where you do not trust or wish to broadcast ANY information about your Foscam IP Cameras when accessing them on any risky or potentially unsecure Internet connection.

Where by doing so. Could and can expose you to Identity Theft or other IP Camera abuses. If others could use that exposed information. To abuse your IP Cameras by changing their position and/or viewing their video streams at anytime and/or gain access to your IP Cameras configurations. Thereby and possibly ("Depending on the User Id Level you used to access your IP Camera when using those unsecure Internet connections") others could also learn your Email and/or FTP User Ids and Passwords for them. Why take that RISK on a unsecure internet connection when there no longer is a need to do so?

Note: Once someone learns where your IP Camera is located ("DDNS and/or ISP IP Address") over an unsecure Internet connection. While also having any valid IP Camera User Id and Password information that was exposed because of using that unsecure Internet connection. They can connect to your IP Camera and based on the IP Cameras User Id level and Password that they ("Sniffed") and captured over a unsecured Internet connection. They can also determine what type of IP Camera is being used during that ("Sniffing") process.

At the very minimum, they would have unfettered 24/7/365 access to your IP Cameras video streams anytime your IP Camera was online and still using that same DDNS and Port or ISP IP Address and Port and User Id and Password for that IP Camera, that they ("Sniffed") on that unsecure Internet connection. That's a "Best Case" scenario and definitely not the worse case scenario and for sure, not worth the risk.

Some corporate, workplace, Hotspots and other Internet connections or their proxies. May block and not allow access to ports other than ports 80 and 443. This gets around those blocks as well. Allowing you to always have access to your Foscam IP Cameras.

Secure Public Use

Here are methods to securely display your Foscam IP Cameras "Real-Time" in Social Media sites, Emails, Forums, Blogs, Web Pages, Instant Messengers and anyplace where you can include an image or links in your post. As well as your own web pages which can now include a "Real-Time" Snapshot image of your Foscam IP Camera.

Without needing to include or expose any reference to your Foscam IP Cameras DDNS, IP Address or Foscam IP Cameras User credentials. With or without your own custom text and/or date and timestamp embedded in the actual image(s) displayed.

This is an excellent method for example. To display a current single image or automatically refreshed images of any Foscam IP Camera. MJPEG or H.264 based, in Real-Time, on a web page at the time a visitor visits and views that webpage. Without giving up any information about your Foscam IP Camera location or user credentials. While and when doing so.

Download

Both these examples require having access to a Web Server with PHP.

In some cases. Web Hosting services do NOT allow access to non-standard outgoing ports. Meaning a port other then port 80. If your Web Hosting service will not open a non-standard port to your current Foscam IP Cameras port. You will be forced to use port 80 for your Foscam IP Camera, to get this to work. The php script automatically checks and reports if this is the case.

Here are the nine files required for this Interface. All in a .zip file:

http://107.170.59.150/V30/SecureImageDisplayV30.zip

These examples below are using a 160x120 and 320x180 resolutions for live demonstration purposes. But you can display any camera resolution for your Real-Time Snapshots or automatic refreshed Snapshots of your Foscam IP Camera on Social Media sites, Blogs, Forums or anywhere that allows you to add an images and/or links to your post. Including your Emails.

Examples

Both examples below are using the same Interface with different configuration options.

First Example - Simple Proxy

The first example. Simply pulls a current image from your Foscam IP Camera in "Real Time" and displays it on the web page that references it. Left is Foscam FI8918W. Right is Foscam FI9821W-V2:

The images you see above. Are Real-Time images that were just created when you loaded and viewed this Forum post web page. Not old images from when this post was created and posted here in the forum.

You can do the same on any Forum, Blog, Social Media Site, Web Pages, Instant Messengers and in Emails that allows you to include images and/or links in your posts. Including your own Web Pages.

Even if the you are not allowed to include images in your posts. You can instead include a link that when clicked on can display a Real-Time image of your Foscam IP Camera. With or without custom text included in those images. Without exposing any information about your Foscam IP Cameras DDNS, ISP IP Address, Port, User Ids or Passwords to do so. Example:

Secure Single Images Without Custom Text

Foscam MJPEG based IP Camera:

http://107.170.59.150/FoscamPullImage2.php

Foscam H.264 based IP Camera:

http://107.170.59.150/test/SecureImageDisplayH264.php

You can also use these same secure methods that do not expose any information about your Foscam IP Camera. Such as your DDNS, ISP IP Address, Port, User Ids and Passwords. To display your Foscam IP Camera using automatic Real-Time images that refresh at the rate you desire by embedding the logic in a Web Page or including a link in Social Media sites, Blogs, Forums and Web Pages, Instant Messengers and your Emails. With or without custom text. Example:

Secure Images Automatically Refreshed Without Custom Text:

http://107.170.59.150/SecureRefreshWithoutText.htm

Display Multiple Cameras With Automatic Refreshed Secure Images

Images Automatically Refreshed With Multiple Cameras At The Same Time ("Same camera being used for live demonstration purposes"):

http://107.170.59.150/TwoCameras.htm

Note: You can display as many Foscam IP Cameras, at the same time as you wish. Each configured differently or the same. Each with or without custom text and using any combination of Foscam IP Camera models with each being the same or different sizes. In any display configuration you wish. With ALL Foscam IP Cameras being displayed. Using these totally secure methods.

The Web Server is not storing any image file on disk, in the above example.

This means that if your camera was offline or not available. That no images would be shown.

This example is simply acting as a go-between for where the images will be posted and the Foscam IP Camera. So that the location and User credentials for the Foscam IP Camera remain private and hidden.

Second Example - Custom Text - Automatic Throttle & Fallback

This example actually does create a single jpg file for each Foscam IP Camera on the web server, which is reused as needed. This can also help you control web server resources when using methods like this unlike example #1, which will try and pull a image, each and every time from your Foscam IP Camera.

This second example, has many benefits over the first example, shown here.

1. It stores the last real-time image received from your Foscam IP camera on disk ("With any changes you configured") so that IF your Foscam IP Camera was offline or not available. The last image stored on disk will be used automatically for image fallback and displayed automatically. Not letting anyone know your Foscam IP Camera is offline or not available. Assuming that your image is not using a timestamp of course.

2. You can set the number of seconds since the last real-time image received from your Foscam IP camera was written to disk to get a fresh image directly from your Foscam IP Camera. So that you can better control resources when/if needed. Only getting a fresh image from your Foscam IP Camera when or if the image on disk is greater then x seconds old. Automatically throttling real-time requests to your Foscam IP Camera.

3. Allows you to insert your custom text and/or a date timestamp into the actual image and store it on disk. Technically it's also possible to add your own logo to your Foscam IP Cameras images displayed, with few changes to do so.

4. Privacy. Say you don't want real-time images of your Foscam IP Camera displaying all the time. You can simply temporarily change the Password for the User Id that the Interface is using. In the Foscam IP Cameras configuration.

This will cause the Interfaces real-time request to the Foscam IP Camera when trying to get a real-time image to fail. Because the Interface will now be using the wrong Password.

With the Disk logging configuration on in the Interface. Then the last real-time image from your Foscam IP Camera will be used as the image displayed.

You then can at anytime later. Change the Password back to what the Interface is using and real-time images from your Foscam IP Camera will then be getting real-time images from your Foscam camera. Instead of the last image on disk.

Giving you privacy when you need it. While not displaying empty images while doing so.

5. You can access the last image stored on disk from the IP Camera directly.

The images you see above are "Real-Time" images that were created when you loaded and viewed this web page not old images from when this Forum post was created. They also create a single image file on the web server for each camera, that is reused and updated when this happens and that file can also be accessed directly as well. If any of the IP Cameras above were offline or not available, then the last image received from that IP Camera would be displayed above automatically.

Again, with no exposure of where the Foscam IP Cameras DDNS, or IP Address that created the image is located or any User Credentials for the Foscam IP Camera that produced the image above.

http://107.170.59.150/ipcam2.jpg

http://107.170.59.150/test/ipcam1.jpg

http://107.170.59.150/test/ipcam4.jpg

If any of the above Foscam IP Cameras were to go offline or become not available. Then the last real-time image received from the Foscam IP camera which was stored on disk. Would instead be used automatically and presented. Instead of a real-time image. This allows nobody to know that your Foscam IP Camera is offline or not available ("Assuming that you are not including date and time in your images").

Only the last real-time image received from your Foscam IP Camera is saved to disk, when using the disk option in the configuration for the Interface. So there is not any file clutter going on with multiple images from the same Foscam IP Camera being saved on disk.

Note: If you use the links above to get the files created by the images above, multiple times. Your browser may cache the files when using the link. Because the request to get the files, are not a unique request. However, the images shown above. Will be unique each and every time your refresh this Forum post web page, because it forces the images to be unique.

Both of these examples are TOTALLY secure methods. Simply using different configuration options available In the Interface. Allowing you to view your Foscam IP Cameras over unsecure Internet connections as well as share images of your Foscam IP Cameras. While providing total ambiguity about your Foscam IP Camera Model and maintaining the privacy of the DDNS, IP Address, Port and User Credentials of your Foscam IP Cameras.

You can create different copies of the Interface configured to be used for different purposes for the same Foscam IP Camera and you can use this Interface to display multiple Foscam IP Cameras at the same time. You can also reference and use any images created by the Interface that are stored on disk as the last image directly.

Secure Images and Refreshed Images Using HTTPS

Note: Even with the Foscam H.264 based IP Camera models that do support HTTPS. There is no requirement to port forward the HTTPS ports for those cameras to use these HTTPS methods with this Interface. Instead the Interface will use your SSL certificate on your Web Site avoiding any certificate warnings. If you have a valid and not self-signed SSL certificate for your Web Site.

The Interface also allows you to access any Foscam IP Camera model even MJPEG based camera models using HTTPS if desired. Accessing your Foscam MJPEG based IP Camera models, using HTTPS is normally not supported.

This can be very helpful if you wish to add your Foscam IP Camera in HTTPS based Web Pages.

Please note the Web Site being used for the examples is using a self-signed certificate which is why you will see a warning when using the example HTTPS links below:

Foscam MJPEG based IP Camera Single Secure Image:

Two Foscam H.264 based IP Cameras With Automatic Secure Image Refresh:

https://107.170.59.150/test/SecureImageDisplayH264Full2.htm

Secure Profile Pictures

In some cases, if your images are sized correctly. You can even use this Interface as your profile picture in Social Media sites, Blogs, Forums other Web Sites and even with some Instant Messengers. Allowing you to have Real-Time images of your Foscam IP Camera instead of any static images you currently maybe using there.

Unsecure Methods

These methods do not require having access to a web server. The actual HTML code can instead be stored on any browser capable device or even stored as an Email attachment and accessed from any browser capable device as needed.

Here are methods that will work with ANY IP Camera that will simply display refreshed images of your IP Cameras in a web page at your selected refresh rates and sizes. It only requires 1 line of HTML code per camera:

http://foscam.us/forum/a-how-to-embed-any-foscam-ip-camera-in-webpage-using-1-line-t9113.html#p43654

Here are unsecure methods to display and access your Foscam IP Cameras while using PTZ ("Pan/Tilt/Zoom") controls in a webpage as well:

MJPEG Based IP Cameras:

CTSS allows your Skype chat messages to be spoken, and in many languages, call it Your Caller Id and for Skype chats, so that you can decide if you want to respond to a chat message.

Maybe you are busy and don't have time to look at the chat text, not a problem, that message and what Skype chat it came from and who sent it will now be spoken, you then can decide, if you are busy or near, but not at your computer, if it is important enough to respond. Maybe you want to hear more, before you do?

You can even select what Skype chats messages in what Skype chats are received are spoken. The Caller Id for Skype chats can be used to speak Skype chat messages in TEN different languages. There are also British speaking voices as well.

Translate Skype chat messages instantly and in real-time, Skype chat messages in 57 different languages can be translated in real-time.

Teach yourself not only how to read and write a new language, but how to speak new languages as well.

By using the Skype test Skype name echo123, you can send chat messages from your Skype name to the echo123 Skype name and use the words and phrases you would like to learn with 57 different languages and hear those translated words spoken in 10 of those 57 different languages as well. also in a British accent as well.

So, now, at your pace you can teach yourself to write, read and speak new languages. Maybe you are going to travel, and need to brush up on a language you may need during your travels?

Maybe you would like to make new friends worldwide on Skype and would not only like to be able to chat with other Skype users globally, but would like to call them, and try to speak a new language with them as well.

The reason why you want to communicate or learn a new language matters little, what matters most is you now can pick and chose what words and phrases you feel you need to use and/or learn and at your speed, not worrying about a class, or instructor or time of day or night to practice or use.

The ENTIRE reason that CTSS was created was to be able to expand your reach into the worldwide Skype cloud, to take you from you current localized Skype experience, to a whole new level. To help you enhance your Skype experience and meet and communicate with people all over the world.

Please click the "Read More" link below to continue reading or to install CTSS.

 Skype Call Transfer Example Returns

3rd Party Applications For Skype

Make Sure Skype is Running! and that you are logged in with the Skype Name you wish to use this with then you can download and install the SCTE here:

But What Can it Do, How Does It Work?

You can transfer ANY inbound Skype call from a Skype name or from your Online Number(s) to another Skype name or telephone number.

If you are going to transfer a call to a telephone number and that telephone number is covered by a subscription you have, it will be at no cost, otherwise it will be at normal Skype rates and also it will include a connect fee.

NOTE: Be very careful if you are going to transfer a call to a telephone number that will use your subscription. If you have an unlimited subscription, because if the transferred call becomes a long one, it could cause you to go over your daily subscription limits.

Even the subscription monitor below will not be able to stop that because once you transfer a call you have no ability to end it, so if it goes on for hours that could cause a subscription daily limit violation of the 360 minute daily limit maximum for unlimited subscriptions only.

If you would also like a FREE subscription monitor that will monitor your subscription usage in real-time please click here as well:

If you are going to transfer a call to a Skype name, it will be at no cost.

This example Call Transfer Program will route any failed Call Transfers to your Skype Voicemail, if you have Skype Voicemail automatically.

For people that run a business and use Skype for communications internally, or people who have Skype call Links to their Skype names on web pages for example, this can be a very handy program, and it's FREE!

Outside callers might have clicked on a link on a web page to call their business Skype names, calls can be routed to one Skype name using this example, and then a person, or multiple persons, logged on as that Skype Name, using this Call Transfer Example program can transfer these inbound calls to the proper department in that company.

How Easy is it really to use this for Call Routing in a Company?

Very Easy, a Business can create Custom Groups on Skype, and add Skype names, or SkypeOut phone numers in each custom group, Say you create a group for Sales, Customer Support, Billing. All these calls can come into the same Skype Name, which mutiple people can be logged on as, and mutiple people can use this Call Transfer example program, by simply clicking on the Custom Group Name, and selecting a Skype Name from that Group and then Click the Transfer Button. Of course there are many additional features as well as automatic transfers.

Could You Please Explain all the Features of This?

Sure let's start from the Top Down:

Active Inbound Call Window:

This window displays ALL Inbound calls to a Skype name, even calls from phones to your SkypeIn telephone number, of course at this time, you can't transfer those, but using this program, you can still answer any inbound calls including these calls.

You can also place any inbound call on hold, resume calls, and end any inbound calls from this program.

If there are multiple inbound calls in progress you need to select which call in this window you are going to take an action on. If a inbound call in this window can be transferred, then the Transfer Button will be available, if the call selected cannot be transferred, then the Transfer Button will not be available when that call is seleted from this window.

Last Call Status Window

This window displays the last call status of any inbound call received, it is important to not that this Call Transfer Example program, does NOT show any information abotu outbound calls at this time.

Groups Window

This window can show ALL groups defined for the Skype name in question, There are many Hardwired Groups, which normally do not show on the Skype Client. This Window can display all Groups including Custom Groups. Some Groups maybe empty, however, that could change as Skype users, go offline and online.

It also should be noted, that there is no automatic refresh for if a user goes offline for example, at the moment, so you can click on a group name to refresh the current online contacts in that group as often as you wish. This will provide a fresh view of what contacts are online since you selected the current group you are looking at.

Show All Hardwired Groups Check Box This checkbox allows you to toggle at any time from important Skype Groups you may need to do transfers including your Custom Groups to All Groups. In many cases, you may need only a limited amount of Skype Groups and Your Custom Groups, but in some cases, if you are using this for business for example, you may need from time to time an ability to transfer to any an all Skype contacts. You can toggle this checkbox to see how it funtions.

Auto Transfer Check Box This checkbox when checked, will disable the transfer button, and automatically, transfer any Skype to Skype call to the Skype Name or Phone Number selected in the Select from Avaliable Contacts window, that is currently selected or if any Skype Name or Phone Number is currently present in the Or Enter One Skpe Name or Phone # window, that will override the current selected item in the Select from Avaliable Contacts window.

So, it is important to CLEAR the Or Enter One Skpe Name or Phone # window of any text if you wish too use the Select from Avaliable Contacts window item that is currenly selected.

Enable Silent Mode Check Box Many people do not know about this feature, it is not availabe in the Skype Client options, currently, and is only available programatically. What it basically does it put ALL Skype Windows to Sleep, until you click the Skype Icon and wake the Skype Client up again. This is a very handy feature, if you are using this program to manually answer Skype inbound calls, and wish to not have windows open up for each call as you are doing so. This allows you to control answering Skype inbound calls using this program only. Currently there is a slight delay when this box is checked, this is a known problem, and Skype is working to resolve this. Again, once Silent Mode is invoked, you can wake up the Skype Client window at anytime by simply clicking on the Skype Icon in your system toolbar.

Select From Available Contacts Window This window ONLY displays Skype users that are Online, or SkypeOut numbers you have in your contacts. There is a good reason for this, odds are pretty good, you don't want to tranfer a call to the Marketing Custom group you created, if the person is NOT Online, so this is an easy way to see who in what groups are currently available, but also includes any SkypeOut phone numbers you have for any group as well.

In the event you do still wish to transfer a call to someone not online, or even a phone number not currently in your contact list, simply enter that Skype Name or Phone number in the Or Enter One Skype Name or Phone # window, and click the transfer button for that call, you can also do this with the Auto transfer feature as well.

Show Handle Check Box As most Skype users know, sometimes it can be hard to determine whom is whom, in your contact list, a great example is when you add a Phone Number and assign a name, you might forget where that number is located, also so Skype Users display names are far from what their real Skype user name is, so this checkbox can be used at anytime to toggle contact names in the group currently listed to see Skype Phone Numbers and Skype User handles when needed.

Save Settings Check Box This is a very handy feature if you are always using this program to transfer to the same Skype Name or Phone Number, this way everytime you start this program it remembers what you did last time.

It is very important to note again, that IF there is text for a Skype Name or Number in the Or Skype Name(s) or Phone #(s) With Comma, that overrides any current Skype Name or SkypeOut phone number currently selected in the Select From Available Contacts Window. If the Or Skype Name(s) or Phone #(s) With Comma area is empty when you have Save Settings checked, the current Skype Name of SkypeOut Phone Number selected in the From Available Contacts Window will be saved and placed in the Or Enter One Skype Name or Phone Number window when the program is restarted.

Current Options saved when the Save Settings checkbox is checked are:

Show All Hardwired Groups Auto Transfer Enable Silent Mode Show Handle Save Settings Current Selected Contact Or Text from the Or Enter One Skype Name or Phone Number Window.

Or Skype Name(s) or Phone #(s) With Comma

Any combination of one or more Skype Name(s) or phone number(s) separated with commas will override any current Skype Name or Skype Number currently selected in the Select From Available Contacts Window. If you use mutiple entries here then the first one to answer the transferred call will get it.

Phone numbers in this window should start with a +followed by country code, area code, and number.

If you are confused about phone number format in this window, and you already have some SkypeOut Numbers in your contact list, simply select the SkypeOut Groups from the Groupm window, which you can see if the Show Hardwired Groups checkbox is checked, and also check the Show Handle checkbox, this will show you are phone numbers should be formatted in this window.

In the U.S., one example would be +13125551212 as a valid formatted phone number.

Transfer Button This button will only be available when you have a inbound call selected from the Active Inbound Calls window that can be transferred. When manually transferring calls, unlike whe the program does the transfer of calls automatically, if a call fails, due to say for example of trying to transfer the Skype Name caller to a phone number, and it fails because they have no credit to make this call, the call is returned and you are allowed to answer it.

If you have Skype Voice Mail and the Auto Transfer checkbox is check, then the call will automatically be routed to Voicemail.

The Copyright Link This links allows you to register for addtional Skype services, once you start to see how well this program works, you may wish to purchase addtional Skype services.

Work In Progrss As you can see this Call Transfer Example for Skype program can be very useful, for both individuals and companies, the important point is, transferred calls are NO cost to the user of this program, if the telephone number(s) the call is transferrred to is normally covered by a subscription or the call is being transferred to Skype name(s)..

An Easy Way to play with this if you only have one computer, is to enter echo123 in the Or Enter One Skype Name or Number window, then check the Auto Transfer checkbox. Do a Switch Users to another Windows User, and logon Skype as another Skype Name, then call the Skype Name that is running the Call Transfer Program and you will notice, you get echo123 when You call that name, not the Skype user you called. You can do this without having any Skype Credits.

If you have Skype credits or are on a Skype plan, make sure you use that Skype Name to call the other Skype Name and try setting the Or Enter One Skype Name or Number window to say your cell phone, or another phone. You can see that your call is in fact transferred to the phone number in question.

Skype Links to Chats - How To Make Them Even Now

3rd Party Applications For SkypeMany people think that since version 4.0 of the Skype Windows Client does not have "Public Chat" support, that it now is impossible to place links on your web site, blog or in your emails to invite others to Skype chats you have created.

I am here to tell you, this is NOT true, and better yet. I will show you how to do it and the links to your chats will work for people that have older Skype versions, as well as Linux and Mac Skype versions.

You can turn any Skype chat into an easily found one using links on web pages, in blogs and in your emails by following these instructions. If the chat is already created, simply skip the chat creations steps and follow the rest of these instructions.

First You will need to create a Skype group chat, you can do that by using the Skype 4.X Windows Client:

Contacts -> Create New Group

The Default name of the Group will be "Emtpy Group" you can change the name of this group chat by simply entering in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/topic [text]

Of course you can use the Skype chat window and change the text and add or change a picture for the Skype group chat you just created as well.

If you want to protect the topic text and any picture you assign to this Skype group chat from being modified by anyone but you, the creator, you can do this by simply entering in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/set options +TOPIC_AND_PIC_LOCKED_FOR_USERS

You will now need to determine what options your group chat will support:

Option Description

JOINING_ENABLED When this bit is off, new users cannot join the chat.

JOINERS_BECOME_APPLICANTS When this bit is on, new users will be able to join the chat but they will be unable to post or receive messages until authorized by one of the chat administrators (CREATOR or MASTER).

JOINERS_BECOME_LISTENERS When this bit is on, new users will be able to receive message in chat but unable to post until promoted to USER role. Basically a read-only flag for new users.

HISTORY_DISCLOSED When this bit is off, newly joined members can see chat history prior to their joining. Maximum amount of history backlog available is either 400 messages or 2 weeks of time, depending on which limit is reached first.

USERS_ARE_LISTENERS Read-only flag for chat members with USER role.

TOPIC_AND_PIC_LOCKED_FOR_USERS When this bit of options is off, USER level chat members can change chat topic and the topic picture.

To turn on any of these chat options above simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/set options +JOINERS_BECOME_APPLICANTS

or to remove the chat option

/set options -JOINERS_BECOME_APPLICANTS

You can even set a password to join your chat if you desire. Simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/set password [text]

No spaces are allowed in the password. You can also provide a hint about the password, so that people who may forget might remember if they see the password hint. Simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/set password_hint [text]

You can set the password and the password hint at the same time. Simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/setpassword [password] [password hint]

If people want to see what the password hint is, they would simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/get password_hint

To show at anytime what chat options are set simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/get options

NOTE: If you decide to not let people post messages right away when they join your chat, or not let them join your chat before they are approved, you will need to manually change each persons role in the chat when you allow them to join or post messages in the chat or if you promote them to more than a normal user of the chat, see /set role below for more information.

All people in your chat can have roles, here are the roles each person can be assigned:

Creator Member who created the chat. There can be only one creator per chat. Only creator can promote other members to masters.

Master Also known as chat hosts. Masters cannot promote other people to masters.

Helper A semi-privileged member. Helpers will not be affected by the USERS_ARE_LISTENERS option. Helpers cannot promote or demote other members.

User Regular member who can post messages into the chat.

Listener Member can only see messages but not post anything into the chat.

Applicant A member waiting for acceptance into the chat. Member cannot be demoted to applicants once they have been accepted.

To assign specific roles to people in your chat simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/setrole [Skype Name] MASTER | HELPER | USER | LISTENER

You can change the role of anyone in your chat at anytime. To see what the role of a person currently is, simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/whois [Skype Name]

You now should be ready to get the link to use for your web pages, blogs or email for this new chat.

To get the link for this new group chat using a Skype for Windows Client of 4.x simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/get uri

Right click on the link displayed and choose "Copy Link Location"

Use that as your a href= link text

There are many many more chat commands, here are some links to more about them:

Click For More Chat Command Details

You should now be able to create as many chats as you wish, with as many different settings as you wish and provide links for people to join them, in your web pages, blogs and emails.

You also can at anytime get help for most of these commands, simply enter in the group chat window you just created as you would do when you send any chat message, enter the text below and then send the command:

/help

If you have any questions about how to do these things or need help doing these things, please post them here.

Enjoy
